For more than 30 years, Refratechnik Group owns the fully integrated MgO producer *Baymag Inc., headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.
Baymag MgO is produced from one of the purest crystalline magnesite deposits ever discovered with typical MgO contents reaching over 97%.
Baymag‘s ore deposit contains magnesite reserves in excess of 50 million tonnes. That‘s the reliable source of raw materials, which our worldwide customers in the cement and steel industries expect from us now and in future.
Baymag operates on a 400 ha this mining lease is situated on over 10.000 ha of mining rights yet to be explored.
The open pit mine operates year round.
The ore is transported to Baymag’s state of the art production facilities in Exshaw, Alberta where it is processed into various grades of magnesium oxide (MgO).
