In 1997 Refratechnik Casting was outsourced from Refratechnik GmbH as an independent business.The Casting experts have 25 years of experience in the production and application of biogenic silicas. The starting point was the use of this as a raw material for insulating refractory products.

This know-how has helped put Refratechnik Casting into a commanding position. An expansion in the field of basic products and in metallurgical slags completes the product range and means that it is now possible to offer complete package solutions.

This includes, for example, the highly insulating covering agent NERMAT^®, the basic covering agent REFRAMAT^® and REFRAFLUX^®, the top slags and REFRABOX as a functional package.

In January 2009, the business was incorporated in the Refratechnik Steel GmbH in Düsseldorf.
