Channel induction furnaces used for the smelting of aluminium are characterised by their high power flux density and place particular demands on the refractory material. Because of the high flow speed, which occurs primarily in the inductors, the materials used must be particularly resistant to wear.
Refratechnik uses high-quality microsilica-free castables here which not only meet this requirement but also prevent a formation of corundum on the refractory material.
