With the start of the production joint venture with Horn & Co. Minerals & Products Management GmbH (Siegen) in 2021, the factory for magnesia carbon bricks in Hünsborn, Germany – previously part of the Horn Group – will be operated and continuously expanded as "Refratechnik Horn Produktions GmbH".
With the recycling specialist Horn, Refratechnik Steel – majority share holder in the joint venture – has found an ideal partner for the production of MACARBON® bricks for the steelmaking industry.
With raw materials from the Group's own mines and plants, and with reclaims produced in Germany, the Refratechnik Group takes another consistent and important step on the way to a circular economy as well as resource independence and conservation. This results in new possibilities for future-oriented technical and ecological concepts "made in Germany".
